Edmodo In Use |
The Ease of Edmodo My first year actually teaching Information Technology to students, I wanted to use something our campus was not familiar with to create some interest for students. After all, this is the 21st Century and students love using their devices and technology. I hate using paper with students. The perfect, and I mean perfect solution has been using Edmodo!
I have posted all assignments all year to my Principles of Information Technology students and Computer Programming students. Edmodo has a library and I have collected all of this years' assignments there. Links, documents,Youtubes Oh My, classes by period, notes and gradebook,Oh My, Edmodo has it all and I could not be happier!! Best of all it is FREE and I can connect with other teachers on my campus that have started using Edmodo. I grade papers in Edmodo with comments, immediate feedback for students, no papers! Anywhere I have internet I can grade papers and Edmodo has apps for mobile devices for students and teachers to access using any device. I have recorded videos and used Youtubes and loaded to Edmodo for my students, links to other sites, documents I have created or copied, special folders for certain members or classes to have access to, the options are limitless! No more," I was absent", students can access assignments from home easily and everything they need to do the assignment is there. I originally created their student accounts. Having been the Campus Technology Specialist for five years I knew they would say, "I forgot my password" to avoid an assignment. Everything web based I use I create the accounts, more trouble in the beginning, but best in the long run. I use our campus acronym ochs at the end of each user so it will be unique to us and unlikely to be taken in an internet wide site, I add the same to our student ID numbers for passwords, easy peasy to remember.
